1. Under the condition of fully ensuring the safe operation of friction parts, in order to reduce energy consumption, lubricating oil with low viscosity shall be preferred.

2. The friction parts working under high-speed load shall use lubricating oil with low viscosity, while the friction parts working under low-speed and heavy load shall use lubricating oil with high viscosity.

3. When the ambient temperature is low, the lubricating oil with low viscosity shall be selected; otherwise, the lubricating oil with high viscosity shall be selected; Lubricating oil with high flash point shall be selected under high temperature conditions; Lubricating oil with low freezing point shall be selected under low temperature conditions.

4. Impact, vibration, reciprocating motion and intermittent motion are unfavorable to the formation of oil film, so lubricating oil with high viscosity or lubricating grease or solid lubricant shall be selected to ensure reliable lubrication.

5. Lubricating oil with low viscosity shall be selected for friction pair with small fit clearance, and lubricating oil with low viscosity shall be selected for working face with high surface machining accuracy.

6. Lubricating oil with low viscosity shall be selected under the condition of mechanical circulation, and lubricating oil with slightly higher viscosity shall be selected during intermittent refueling; Lubricating oil with high viscosity shall be selected for vertical lubricating surface, exposed gear, chain, steel wire rope, etc.

7. If there is no suitable brand of lubricating oil, the lubricating oil of similar brand can be used instead or mixed. Only the lubricating oil slightly greater than the specified viscosity can be used instead. When mixing, try not to use the mixing of two oils with different properties, different brands and additives.
